About me
“Thiru Somasundaram is a Sri Lankan Scientist, specialized in the area of value addition in agricultural and fisheries supply chain contributing to sustainable food systems. He has carried out national and international scientific research at the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency in Sri Lanka and in collaboration with the Food and Agricultural Organization of United Nations, Rome: Institute of Marine Sciences, Norway and World Fish - Dr. Shakuntala Thilsted, 2021 World Food Prize-winning researcher. Mr. Thiru has earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Food Science and Technology and has a diploma in Diplomacy and world affairs. He is also a United Nations Industrial Development Organization certified analytical chemist. He is currently carrying out his Ph.D. research at Deakin University Warrnambool Campus, with an aim to help the local dairy industry to achieve its goal to become carbon neutral by the year 2030.
